Elizabeth Mayville

Exquisite.  Obsessed with Elizabeth's watercolors.  Thinking of maybe buying the bun prints for my parents new Cape Cod home to help remember their daughters ;-)

Nursery Faux Taxidermy

A gift for my new nephew made entirely out of AC Moore materials.  Cheap beanie babies, hot glue, wood and wood stainer... and then just a little bling to fance it up.  It's now hanging over his crib and I couldn't be happier.

My First California Summer

With almost 5 months under my belt out west, thought it was about time to finally pick up and say hello to my old girlfriend, BeeBee.  It's been awhile.  Practically the longest stretch we've gone since our love affair began that we haven't "talked".  We've made amends though.  Had a long chat.  Hugged it out.  She's not mad.  Truth is, moving cross country and starting a new life and a new job is actually a HUGE adjustment.  WHO KNEW?!  I think I had this idea in my mind that things would just magically fall into place when I moved out here.  While many important aspects of my life did, what still has me trippin' these days are those nonsense, daily, little, life-routine happies that make a "place" a "home".  I use this example a lot, and it may sound a bit foolish, but seriously... my kingdom for that little happy nail salon I used to go to on the corner of 3rd and 22nd after those late week nights at work or those early Sunday mornings when all I needed were pretty toes and an hour to myself.  Or that corner bodega that always said hello and always knew to have my no sodium seltzer stocked and chilled.  I think what I'm missing most is that local familiarity.  That difference between a "place" and a "home".  It'll come, I'm sure... but definitely an adjustment for sure.

The million dollar question though.  Am I happy I moved here?  Without a doubt.

Sorry it's been so long since my last post.  Perhaps "Bringin BeeBee Back" will be just that familiarity I need.  She's always been good like that.

A little sleepy.  A little hot.  A little "over it".  A little full.  A little disinterested.  A little pooped.

Unnecessary.  But awesome.  Thus, necessary.  See more here.

First Weekend-O-Decorating... Going to be very lime-filled...

Reborn Designs

I find it odd that I haven't yet blogged about this incredible jewelry line before now!  One of my oldest friends, Samantha, over the last few years has created some of the most uniquely beautiful pieces I've seen in a LONG time.  So delicate and special.  Absolutely adore her little nautical touches.  Take a look at her entire collection here.  Go Sam go!
